Merle Heimer - Coach Heimer started playing volleyball when he was 15 years old, playing with the El Paso Surf Club men's team. He played on the '88 team that won the Sun Country Region and made it to bracket play at nationals in Salt Lake City. After playing basketball at UTEP, Coach Heimer began coaching varsity volleyball at Riverside High in 1991. In the past 16 years, he has led Riverside to 14 playoff apperances with 7 district championships (6 undefeated district seasons), and 4 bi-district championships. The 2003 team won area and the regional quarterfinals, advancing to the Texas sweet 16, 1 of only 4 El Paso schools to accomplish that feat in the past 25 years. The 2010 team set a school record with 31 wins. In club, has coached teams in 13s, 14s, 15s, and 17s age groups.
Marisol Macias - Riverside High School grad, 4 year letterman, 3 time undefeated district and bi-district champs. 07-08 Newcomer of the year, 08-09 all district first team; all city honorable mention. 09-10 Hitter of the year, all city 2nd team. 10-11 District 2-4A CoMVP; El Paso Times All City 1st team; Texas Sportswriters Association All State Honorable Mention. Played middle blocker all 4 years in high school. Attended Southern University A&M in Baton Rouge, LA. Played Division 1 volleyball, 4 year starter. Captain of the team from 2012-14; played outside hitter and right side hitter. Coaching experience includes 8th grade volleyball coach for St. Aloysius Catholic School in Baton Rouge, LA in 2015. Camp counselor for Nike Volleyball Camp in San Antonio, TX and Southern University's camp in Baton Rouge. Junior High volleyball coach at Father Yermo in El Paso, TX. Also, volleyball trainer at Street Cred Sports in El Paso, TX
